Thailand ‘worried’ about Ukraine violence, humanitarian crisis, consultant tells UN

After Thailand backed a UN resolution in opposition to Russia’s invasion of the Ukraine, the country’s Permanent Representative mentioned it’s ‘worried’ concerning the ongoing violence and humanitarian crisis within the Ukraine. At a particular session of the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, the consultant stated the violence will impact the rest of the world as well.
“…will cause wider impacts for the world, aggravate humanitarian situations, and threaten the wellbeing of the worldwide economic system, hampering the delicate restoration from the Covid-19 pandemic”.
Thought-provoking called for dialogue and peaceable negotiations by way of the UN to achieve peace and a sustainable solution. The representative vowed that Thailand would do its greatest to help with the Ukraine’s humanitarian scenario by working with “like-minded worldwide organisations”. The representative added that Thailand commends the Ukraine’s neighbours for helping with the humanitarian crisis.
Many Thais have expressed solidarity with the Ukraine, and some with army expertise have even signed up to battle with the Ukrainian army in opposition to Russia’s invasion. One man with two years of experience in the Thai airforce informed reporters he felt he needed to act after seeing footage of Ukrainian youngsters being killed, and families torn apart.
