Amarinth delivers 18m-long pumps for new Indian FPSO

Amarinth has completed a US$1.5 million order from Armada Madura for six API 610 VS4 vertical pumps for a new FPSO being constructed for India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC).

Two of the six API 610 VS4 pumps are pour level depressant pumps that are 18m in size and the other 4 are methanol carry pumps which are 10m long.
All of the pumps have PT100 temperature sensors that have been designed and built alongside the size of the pumps to monitor the temperature of every bearing individually.
On the QT incorporate a supporting system of brackets that Amarinth has designed which attaches each pump to its tank during set up ensuring that because the pump is lowered into the tank it remains completely aligned, reducing vibration and wear throughout operation.
Once assembled, the pumps had been independently witness tested and certified by DNV at Amarinth’s facility in Rendlesham, UK. The pumps have been then disassembled into 3m segments and shipped to Singapore the place the FPSO (floating manufacturing storage and offloading unit) is being constructed.
The pump supply and installation had to align with the FPSO build schedule. Because of the size of the pumps, they needed to be installed into the vessel’s tanks by way of the deck before one other deck above the pumps could probably be built. The first part was accomplished efficiently over the Christmas interval with Amarinth’s Engineering Commissioning team supporting the customer with the installation and commissioning.
The FPSO will be positioned in the KG-DWN 98/2 subject, roughly 22 km off the east coast of Kakinada, India. The vessel is designed to supply as much as 90 000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and have a 1.3-million-barrel storage facility. It might be equipped to handle the monsoon circumstances prevalent at the area.
